EMMA PROUDLY REPRESENTS USA AT THE BRICS FASHION SUMMIT 2024

As the Founder of Modern Natured, I had the incredible honor of representing the United States at the prestigious BRICS Fashion Summit 2024, held from October 3rd to 5th at the iconic Zaryadye Moscow Concert Hall. The event brought together over 100 countries to celebrate cultural heritage, sustainability, and innovation within the global fashion industry. It was a truly inspiring experience that showcased the transformative power of fashion, where the fusion of tradition and modernity took center stage.

At the summit, Modern Natured’s collection was prominently displayed, blending eco-conscious materials and artisanal techniques to create pieces that honored our cultural heritage while looking to the future. The collection received an enthusiastic response from the international audience, with many commenting on the unique balance of sustainable luxury and innovative craftsmanship.

 I had the privilege of being featured in several esteemed publications. The Times of India, Business of Fashion, La Gazzetta di Malta, and LA Weekly all highlighted the unique aspects of Modern Natured’s approach to combining heritage with modern design. Additionally, I shared my thoughts in Sputnik News, where I discussed the emotional connection that many African designers, including myself, have to the summit’s celebration of cultural diversity.

One of the most exciting parts of the summit was having the opportunity to lead a workshop titled "Innovation in Motion: How Technology Transforms Product Management in Luxury Fashion." This workshop allowed us to delve deep into the intersection of technology and fashion, showing attendees the importance of product management tools for collaboration. It was a chance to highlight how brands like ours can use digital tools to elevate their creative processes without losing the soul of their artistry.

Key Highlights from the Workshop:

1. Balancing Craftsmanship and Innovation: We explored the delicate balance between traditional design techniques and the ever-evolving role of technology in fashion. Technology isn’t just about machinery and tools; it’s about enhancing craftsmanship preserving heritage while moving toward more sustainable, efficient Product Development processes.

2. Streamlining Production Processes: We discussed how digital tools can optimize production workflows without compromising on quality. From 3D modeling to digital pattern-making, technology allows for better precision and faster turnarounds while maintaining the luxury standards our industry is known for.

3. Fostering Collaboration with Technology: One of the key takeaways was the importance of digital collaboration. By leveraging online platforms, design teams from across the globe can work together seamlessly. This digital shift opens the door for international collaboration, bringing diverse perspectives into the creative process. We highlighted collaboration tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Print Boards, Google Docs, Zoom, Teams, and Slack, showcasing how they help foster seamless communication and collaboration between teams, regardless of their location.

BRICS International Fashion Federation: A New Era for Fashion

The BRICS Fashion Summit also marked the launch of the BRICS International Fashion Federation, a monumental initiative aimed at strengthening global collaboration and promoting sustainable practices in the fashion industry. Leaders from over 50 fashion associations signed a memorandum of understanding, setting the stage for a new era in which the fashion industry thrives by embracing sustainability and cultural heritage.

This announcement was a pivotal moment, as it signaled the growing importance of global unity in fashion, where collaboration is the key to driving innovation and achieving long-term sustainability goals. For Modern Natured, being part of this summit was a proud moment, as it aligned perfectly with our own commitment to merging cultural craftsmanship with modern technological advancements to create luxury fashion with a conscience.

Being at the BRICS Fashion Summit and leading the workshop was a significant milestone in my journey with Modern Natured.
